We are looking for a driven and capable Senior Commissioning/Decommissioning Project Manager to support us with the optimization of multiple data center projects for one of the top technology clients in the world. This is a client-facing role that requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills, the ability to self-direct, client representation, and an emphasis on strong supply chain fundamentals. A strong background in data center demand forecasting and capacity planning is a big plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Able to plan and manage all commissioning and de-commissioning activities hardware equipment within the Data Center facility to adhere to optimizing efficiency 

• Ensures overall availability and reliability within the Data Center 

• Identifies gaps and implements plans to optimize efficiency 

• Creates reports and documented procedures for stakeholders 

• Supports the data center capacity planning teams and evaluates resource needs in support of demand requirements  

• Effectively manages and requested changes to capacity plan 

• Manages any requested changes to capacity plan, evaluating impacts on capacity, cost, and time 

• Constantly reviews the infrastructure consumptions to identify issues providing short-term and long-term solutions 

• Contributes to the CAPEX budget planning process 

• Works with procurement teams to source data center infrastructure expansions 

• Works with cross functional teams to assess the impacts of new technologies in data center capacity planning 

• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned 
   

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required

  • Minimum 10+ years in IT or relevant field 

  • Minimum 6 years in data center operational experience 

  • Working knowledge of fundamental data center resource constraints 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field 

  • Good hardware knowledge of data center infrastructure 

  • Experience with process improvement systems, data analysis, data modeling, and reporting 

  • Experience in client-facing positions 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs  

  • Actively seeking new technologies related to data centers 
     

POSITION DETAILS

• Primary Location: Plano, TX

• Position: Senior Commissioning/Decommissioning Project Manager

• Position Classification: Salary-based full-time regular hours

• Travel: 25% travel expected
